Does Usaco Promote you over a span of a few competitions

I was wondering if usaco promotes you over the span of multiple contests.
For example, if you solve 1 problem correctly in the December contest and 2 problems correctly in the January contest, will promote you to the next level.
So basically does your score add up over a span of multiple contests?

No that does not happen, you must achieve a certain score in one contest to be able to promote to the next level. By having it like this, the test requires you to focus on time management when it comes to your problems and tests you on your algorithmic problem-solving ability too.
